So, I've been on the road for a few weeks now, and I only have been home a couple days. Something pretty amazing happened while I was gone. One of my images was published in the New York Times!!!
Now, I've been published a lot of places Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Seattle Times, and others. Each time it has happened seems by old fashioned luck. I have a story behind each time it has happened. This time is no different.
So I was covering the Legends of Golf at Top of the Rock by Big Cedar and Bass Pro Shops. Its a PGA tournament in which the biggest names in golf play. I'm not a golf guy, but even I can appreciate the significance. After all, because of my time spent covering this tournament Gary Player is a person hero to me, and I learned there isn't classier person in the game than Jack Nicklaus. Lee Trevino always makes me laugh something that isn't easily accomplished for an old salty dog photographer.
Saturday approached and I was asked by the tournament director to photograph a shotgun wedding between a golfer Scott McCarron and his stunning wife Jeannie last year. Weddings really aren't my thing anymore, but it was an honor to get to do it! They are just super awesome people!!
Happy Anniversary y'all!
